A Design System is the single source of truth for a company’s digital products. It’s a living library of reusable components, clear standards, and guiding principles. It bridges design & development. Ensuring that every button, icon, and page layout is consistent, accessible, and built to scale. For the teams to focus on solving user problems instead of rebuilding interfaces from scratch. Here is how i handled the Design System for Renault Group.

The Challenge: Leading a Systemic Transformation
When I joined the project, the ‘system’ was a set of 8 separate Figma libraries (2 per brand). Each one with its own different style, pages alignment and level of details.
This created major problems:
It became overwhelming for designers to navigate, understand and use.
Impossible to update quickly as it was dependent on separate designers individually.
Inconsistency was inevitable, defeating the core purpose of a DS.
I proposed and led a complete architectural transformation to a true Multi-Brand Design System.
Consolidated from 8 libraries down to 2:
CORE: A single library for foundational atoms (tokens, colors, typography, icons, basic inputs).
COMPONENTS: A second library for complex molecules and page templates.
Each element was built in four brand variants, managed through Figma’s variant and style properties.
Designed a New Contribution Process:
Created clear rules for how any designer on the team could propose and build new components.
This turned the DS from “my project” into “our shared responsibility,” boosting collaboration and buy-in.
Opened the Communication Loop:
Got the DS included in global product updates and demo sessions, breaking it out of the “designer-only” silo.
The Result:
This transformation led to me being formally named the Design System Lead. It gave our work visibility, saved countless hours, and finally gave us a single source of truth actually usable.

One System, Four identities
Our unique challenge was architecting a system that could express the distinct personality of four brands. Renault, Dacia, Alpine, and Mobilize. From a single, maintainable code and design base. The Design System had to be flexible enough for visual diversity but rigid enough to ensure usability and efficiency.

Typography Scale
A defined type scale for headings, subheadings, body, and captions. It governs hierarchy, readability, and rhythm across all layouts, with clear rules for mobile and desktop.

Components and layouts
Full layouts of base components, detailed technical specs, wireframing and prototyping.

Got a project that’s itching for some creative magic?
Whether it’s a sleek digital product, an eye-catching illustration,
or something in-between, I’d love to hear about it.
